A Point of Arrival and Departure
For Ishoten 2023, the graduation exhibition of the Chiba University Department of Design, I worked as part of the VI team, responsible for the logo and poster design. In response to the exhibition concept, “TERMINAL,” we adopted a photograph of the sky seen from the university’s south gate as the main visual. Viewing the graduation exhibition as both a point of arrival and a point of departure, I designed a clean and orderly logo and visual identity inspired by the atmosphere of an airport.
The airplane moving through the clouds reflects a landscape unique to Chiba University, where planes frequently pass overhead due to the nearby airport. At the same time, it represents our own transition toward separate paths, while carrying the uncertainty of the pandemic and the instability of the social climate.
